Boat Dock & Patio Deck Builders in Montana
With rugged mountain peaks that seem to touch the sky, freshwater lakes as clear as glass, and wildlife found nowhere else on Earth, it’s no wonder that Glacier National Park is Montana’s top tourist attraction. It’s also no coincidence that Glacier Docks & Decks was named in honor of this world-famous natural landmark. Take a few minutes to learn how our company got started in the boat dock and patio deck building business, and how we continue the tradition of quality and service established by our founders.
For boat owners, by a boat builder
Glacier Docks & Decks was established in 1932 by Art Burch, under the name Glacier Park Boat Builders. As head of the Glacier Park Boat Company, Art built tour boats, boat docks, and worked exclusively on all the tour boats in Glacier National Park.
Vermont resident Brian McCuin came on board as a boat captain at Many Glacier during the summers while going to college. Together, he and Art started Glacier Dock in 1962.
1,000+ docks and marinas later
Brian McCuin bought Glacier Docks & Decks in 1994. His father, Terry, moved to Montana from Vermont to help start the company. Today, Brian runs Glacier Docks & Decks. Terry now serves as the shop manager, and nephew Brad, another long-time member of the Glacier Docks family, offers assistance as a boat dock and deck builder. Our family looks forward to helping your family make the most of lakefront living from our headquarters in Kalispell, MT.
