Glacier Dock was established in 1932 by Art Burch and originally called Glacier Park Boat Builders. Art built tour boats, docks and worked exclusively on all the tour boats in Glacier National Park. He also ran Glacier Park Boat Company in the Park, where Brian McCuin started as a boat captain at Many Glacier during the summers while going to college. Brian and Art started Glacier Dock in 1962 and over the years have built a thousand docks and marinas together. Brian bought the company in 1994.
Glacier Dock and Decks is truly a family business; Brian runs the manufacturing business with his wife Susan. They also get help from Brian’s father Terry and nephew Brad. Terry is the shop manager, moving from Vermont to help start the company. Brad has also been part of Glacier Docks since the beginning.
Brian grew up in Vermont and Susan was born a Custer and her family resided in a homestead in Missoula. Together they started the Hellgate Trading Post and have kept their roots in Montana. They are very involved in the community and devote much of their time to making other people lives better. They are members of many charitable organizations and understand the value of keeping their money in the community.
